UK Sensation KIN Joins The Spectra Music Group Releasing New Single "Home Sweet Home" October 14th

The Spectra Music Group is pleased to announce that UK Superstars KIN have joined forces to release their highly anticipated debut album, starting with their first single "Home Sweet Home" which will be available worldwide on October 14th, 2014.

KIN is made up of brothers Lynx and O'Slick, foster sister Emmie Jay and their childhood friend Melodee. Making Music since childhood, KIN was formed when Lynx decided to bring the families talents together after many years of jamming together for fun and realizing that together, with each other's support they were at their strongest.

KIN had previous success as 'South Finesse' (as they were formally known as) when their track 'Wanna Ride' stormed in at track of the week on radio 1xtra and the video had a no1 top spot on the urban channel AKA for 2 weeks running. Together independently and without any labels South Finesse had many successes with various tracks making track of the week on 1xtra, a storm of online support and PR and music video 'Take me away' hitting no10 on MTV Base and front page of Vevo.

Many industry people where surprised that the band had such strong movement on their own and without label backing. It was this success that has recently lead to major label interest and the band signing a worldwide record deal with American based label Spectra Music Group. It was before this signing that the band decided to re brand themselves based on their sibling relationship which is what sets them apart from the rest and are now KIN.

KIN wanted a name that involved everyone, not just themselves but of those who support them. As they came together from many different walks of life to form their own family unit, they wanted to invite the world to join them. KIN aren't keen on the concept of fans, as they feel that the word puts people on a pedestal. So they invite everyone to join them as one united movement #WeAreKin where anyone can be a part of and everyone is equal.

KIN is about making the most of life, supporting your Kin's and having fun with it. So whoever you are, wherever you're from, KIN invites you to join them on their journey and show the world that when you set your mind to it anything is possible with hard work and belief in yourself.

DJ's and Radio Programmers worldwide are excited about the new release "Home Sweet Home" by KIN, as they make incredible music and have such an amazing back story bringing them together as a super talented group.

Spectra Artist Jimi Jamison Dies

Jimi Jamison, the lead singer of Eighties rock bands Cobra and Survivor, passed away August 31 after suffering a heart attack. He was 63. Jamison's booking manager confirmed to that the former Survivor singer had died.

Jamison served as Survivor's lead singer from 1984 until 1988, proving the vocals for the band's hits like "The Moment of Truth" from The Karate Kid, "Is This Love," and "Burning Heart" from Rocky IV. As a solo artist, he recorded the track "I'm Always Here," which became the memorable theme song for the TV series Baywatch. Jamison had chart topping hits such as "The Search Is Over," "I Can't Hold Back," "High On You."

Jamison joined Survivor after their then-lead singer, David Bickler, was forced to leave the group after developing polyps on his vocal chords shortly after Survivor recorded their biggest hit, the Grammy-winning Rocky III cut "Eye of the Tiger." In 1984, following the dissolution of Cobra, Jamison stepped in as Survivor lead singer, recording three albums with the band, 1984'sVital Signs, 1986's When Seconds Count and 1988's Too Hot to Sleep. Survivor disbanded in 1989, but reformed in 1993 with Bickler back at the microphone. Jamison would eventually rejoin Survivor in 2000 for another six years.

In the Nineties, the band was mired in legal issues as Jamison toured under the Survivor moniker even though his former bandmates, who had reunited with Bickler, also performed as Survivor. This lead to lawsuits between the two groups, which weren't resolved until guitarist Frankie Sullivan assumed ownership of the Survivor name. The band eventually made amends and, in recent years, Survivor toured with both Jamison and Bickler.

At press time, neither Survivor's Twitter nor Facebook accounts had commented on Jamison's death. The band had performed in Morgan Hill, California on August 30. They were scheduled to begin another tour on September 12 in Parker, Colorado.
