Yewande Joins Spectra

Born with an unusual name eclipsed only by her talent, Yewande (ye-wan-day) has been recognized as one of the most sought after independent artists in the world. Now joining Monarchy Records, a Division of The Spectra Music Group, as the "First Lady of Alternative Soul", her genre-bending songs speak unapologetic truths about issues that many artists shy away from- poverty, war, race. Her powerhouse vocals hearken to the days of Tina Turner and Pat Benatar.

With the angst of Rock, a dash of Hip-hop and a whole lot of Soul, Yewande's second forthcoming album "Better" is like a carefully scored soundtrack that will leave you wanting more. Besides being an award winning singer, Yewande is a lecturer, honorary U.S. Cultural Ambassador and 2013 CNN Hero nominee. She was recently nominated for a 2014 "Community Award" from the InfluenceHer Awards for her global work using music to empower vulnerable youth (www.changerocksfoundation.com).
