Gene-O has just inked a deal with The Spectra Music Group to release his debut cd "Born To Love".
"Born to Love" has been created with so many styles yet all speaking to and about love which is where Gene-o’s passion for the heart will shine through in so many ways. The new CD features such artist as: Adam Hawley, Darryl Williams, Cal Harris Jr. Ashling “Biscuit” Cole and Will Donato.
With his amazing creative talent, one-of-a-kind signature sound and unbelievable vocal range (4 octaves), Gene-o has the ability to capture an audience and make even the largest venue feel like an intimate gathering. Gene-o has established himself as one of the most sought after vocalists in a genre that has been empty for so many years. He empowers the sultry adult arena that was once filled by such artists as Luther Vandross, Gerald Levert, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and Nat King Cole As vocalist, songwriter, lyricist, and self-taught musician, Gene-o shares his gift of song that is so transformative, it will make you believe not only in the power of love, but in the possibility of magic. His incomprehensible style will stay with you long after the show is over. It has also been rumored that Gene-o could be a distant relation to other greats bearing the same surname, which you will understand why when you witness his performance and are captured by his charisma, soft loving yet strong capturing voice.
Since his early childhood, Gene-o has performed, honed, and infused the passion of gospel into every aspect of his musical performances. This gospel background provides a passion to his music that is evident in everything he does. As Gene-o grew, he listened to and admired the talents of Luther Vandross, Jeffrey Osborne, Phil Perry, Celine Dion and Patti Labelle. Their influences and his own unique gift have combined to create a style that is undeniably smooth, sexy, and seductive. Gene-o has been fortunate to share his gifts through stage performances with a variety of artists including, but not limited to, The Jets, Lenny Williams (former lead singer for Tower of Power) and the legendary Patti Labelle.
After spending several years performing around the world (China, Japan and the EU) and throughout the United States, Gene-o found himself in Los Angeles where he found his love for music was re-ignited. Soon, he was performing at local and national venues ranging from The Westgate Lounge, Humphrey’s By the Bay, various regional jazz festivals, as well as private and corporate events.
As of late, Gene-o has shared the stage with such artists as The Bus Boys, U-Nam, JJ Sansavarino, Max V, Elan Trotman, Gail Jhonson, Jonathan Fritzen, Aysha, The Braxton Brothers, Ricky Lawson, Darryl Williams, Monty Seward, Will Donato, Eric Darius, and his mentor the amazing Phil Perry.
What we know to be true is this is just the beginning.
What About Forever, Gene-o's first solo project, was mastered in 2007 however because the record label he was under folded it was never released. Now in 2015, Gene-o found a new sound, look and musical stylings and is excited to release it to the world. Being signed to The Spectra Music Group is giving him the platform to allow his music to finally be heard worldwide.
